My Beledi By Sinquana
There's something magick inside me I don't know what to call it It bubbles and shines It's been there for as long as I know It's waiting to be released It wants to be revealed.
As I reveal myself from my veil And my hips follow the sounds of the Tablah That magick inside me stirs As my arms mimic the tune of the flute And my body follows suit The magick rises, bubbles to the surface.
As my hips follow the swaying takkseem The magick reveals itself Sinquana
As the music fades and darkness envelopes me I realize what I had inside me That magick is a passion to dance A passion awoken when intoxicated by sound.
Now I know my magick I want to access her all the time.
I want to be Sinquana Dance her dance A dance of love, light, peace A dance from the East Her beledi, her tune Our dance, our peace

Through dance, my soul flies free My arms like wings lift me to sheer ecstasy My feet balance the weights of this ever-changing life And my eyes see your pain and wish it away I bring my heart to you and share a spell that binds us for a moment or two Only to hope you carry that joy to another close by Through dance I talk to you and hope you do not feel alone I learn through your dreams and prayers So let us dance together and feel timeless I only ask that you understand that life moves on Dance is life and life is a dance Watch me dance and see, you'll learn like me That life is really no mystery But an adventure just waiting to be
